Repetitive phrases abound in these books. In Book 1, Secret Crush, the phrase she "hugged her waist" appeared 11 times, but that's not the worst of it. The phrase she "licked her lips" was used 9 times, he only licked his twice. In Book 2, Secret Baby, she "licked her lips" 8 times and him not at all. Y'all getting the drift here? Okay, in Book 3, Secret Bet, she "licked her lips" THIRTY-SEVEN ( yes, 37) times. He only licked his 16 times! That's 53 times the phrase is used in one book of less than 250 pages. I would have/should have stopped reading but I just couldn't walk away from the train wreck. There is significantly more wrong with these books than overuse of these phrases. Read Andrea Vermeulen's review on Goodreads for more details. I wish I had.

The House of Morgan Books 1 3 edition by Victoria Pinder Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

A wonderful collection of books that that show a family transitioning from resentment and tension to love and forgiveness. A mean , controlling bitter father traumatised his wife and children by manipulation, meanness, and control. His death triggers many events that finally help them find goodness and peace in their lives. Great read.
I really enjoyed this series. Imagining the life of the really rich is always fun. The only thing I really didn’t like in Peter & Belle’s story was the use of the phrase “he/she licked his/her lips”. It must have been used dozens of times. It was ridiculous! I never noticed it much in books 1 & 2. My first thought was it was written by a different author. Other than that, it was really entertaining.
This is literally the worst series I have ever read. I read all five books available. I consider myself something of a connoisseur of trashy romance novels. The trashier and smuttier the better. I can generally overlook thin plots, under-developed characters, poor writing, and sloppy editing. This time, however, it is all just too much to be ignored. I look at all the 4 and 5 star reviews and all I can conclude is that our educational system has completely failed us and that, in general, people are irredeemably stupid. Yes, I read all five books. In the end, it was less about being unwilling to stop in the middle and more about taking some perverse delight in hate-reading to the end.

The problems with this book and this series are legion, but I will start with the truly terrible editing job. Typos were rampant and distracting. Details from book to book were inconsistent. The timeline made no sense. Characters disappeared never to be seen or heard from again. There were too many story lines happening at once and the characters' reactions to events were not just unrealistic, but entirely inappropriate.

There were so many annoying devices employed by the author throughout the books. The worst being that all the men smelled like trees and all the women smelled like fruit. Over and over again, the man smelled like oak or cedar and, depending on the woman, apples, strawberries, peaches or vanilla. By the time I was done, I just wanted to bake a pie and be done with it. And the women were always hugging their own waists. I am still not sure how this actually works in real life.

The final insult of these books is that the sex wasn't even interesting.

I find it difficult to believe that this book series wasn't self-published.

At the end of the day, I would recommend that you not waste your time on this series. There are so many other trashy novels out there
This story had potential.
I liked both the lead characters. They had a very nice chemistry.
There were a lot of questions asked in the story and not many were answered.
Answering the questions in the next books really didn't work for me. I don't have any interest reading the next book, even to answer the questions raised in the first book.
These first three books stories) can all be read as stand alongside, but it is so much fun to read them in their order. I can't wait to get my hands on volume 4.
The only reason I gave only 4 stars is because I deducted 1 for all the misspelled words and errors in the grammar. I suspect a lot of them are caused from auto correct or voice to text or poor proofreading reading. If you can overlook those things, I think you will enjoy these books as much as I have.
I read the first two books, they were pretty good stories. By the time I started the third book I lost complete interest and couldn't even go any further then the first few pages when I quit. The author took the villain from the 2nd book to be the 3rd Morgan love. The author didn't even remember what color eyes she had and that she was supposed to be beautiful. Also, the stars of the first book was supposed to have more then one baby, twins? Triplets? In the third book the baby was born, a boy! Where's his siblings? I was so disgusted I didn't waste my time and read any more.
John, Victoria, and Peter Morgan have had a seriously screwed up childhood... This collection puts the first three Morgan stories in one convenient set to purchase and enjoy!

FBI agent John finds love first, then his sister Victoria comes out of hiding (and presumed death) to reunite with her first love Colt, while the eldest Morgan, Peter, finds his love in Colts ex fiancee in the third installment.

I can not express in this review how much I enjoyed these Morgan sibling stories; this was my introduction to Victoria Pinders writing and I quickly started following her to get alerts on all her new works!
Repetitive phrases abound in these books. In Book 1, Secret Crush, the phrase she "hugged her waist" appeared 11 times, but that's not the worst of it.
